Reading: Iyob (Job) 37-40
On August 15, 2005, the eviction of the settlers in Gaza began. On August 29, 2005, Hurricaine Katrina hit Mississippi and Louisiana. Was there a connection?
At the time I was reminded of this passage in Job:
Job 38:1 Then YHWH answered Iyob out of the whirlwind, and said,
Job 38:2 "Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Job 38:3 Now gird up your loins like a man, and I ask you, and you answer Me.
Job 38:4 Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you have understanding.
Job 38:5 Who set its measurements, if you know? Or who stretched the line upon it?
Job 38:6 Upon what were its foundations sunk? Or who laid its corner-stone,
Job 38:7 when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of Elohim shouted for joy?
Job 38:8 Or who enclosed the sea with doors, when it burst forth and came from the womb;
Job 38:9 when I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band;
Job 38:10 and assigned for it My law, and set bars and doors;
Job 38:11 and said, 'This far you have come, but no farther, and here your proud waves stop?'
YHWH is Sovereign, so we know that He decided where the waves stopped that day. We also know that He will judge those who divide up His Land:
Joe 3:2 then I shall gather all gentiles, and bring them down to the Valley of Yehoshaphat. And I shall enter into judgment with them there for My people, My inheritance Yisra'el, whom they have scattered among the gentiles, and they have divided up My land.
The United States (along with other nations) has an agenda to divide up His Land and was instrumental in the forsaking of Gaza.
Whether or not Katrina was a direct consequence for what happened with Gaza, what we can know is that both the United States and Israel are in need of healing, so we need to be on our knees in prayer for that.
2Ch 7:14 and My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
Psa 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
