I'm not quite sure why the main character was so revered by everyone in the story as her personality seemed rather dull and not as fleshed out as some of the other characters. It was evident that they admired her strength, but she seemed kind of prickly personality-wise. The story overall was okay, and of course I loved the knitting backdrop, but I think in this case the movie may actually end up being better than the book if they can manage to create a Georgia Walker that the audience can feel more of a connection to than the Georgia Walker in the book. Looking forward to seeing the movie to find out.

thanks so much for taking the time to tell about the books you read...I am on the fence about reading the friday night knitting club but I bet in time I do. Your review was helpful.
