300

This was pretty breathtaking. I didn't see as much of it as I would like as I was crocheting one of the thread butterflies, so couldn't keep my eyes on the screen all the time, but what I did see was striking.

At first the weird coloration of it was distracting, but once I got used to it, I think it ended up being a positive. The men in the movie looked more like moving sculptures than plain ol' flesh and blood, so more hero-like. Overall I think the way it was filmed added to the grandeur of it.

My interest in the movie was heightened when I read about the Spartans probably being descended from Israelite exiles. Apparently there is mention of this in I Maccabees. I enjoyed watching the movie with that in mind.
