The Ten Commandments

I think this was actually a 2-part miniseries, but we watched it all at once like a movie. As with nearly all screen versions of stories from the Scriptures, I can never understand why they don't just stick with the original script. This one, like others of this type, put stuff in from out of nowhere that bear no resemblance to anything that actually happened in the original story and also left out important story lines.

On the positive side, it was cool to see Padma from 'Top Chef' as the princess who adopts Moses and Naveen Andrews (Sayid from 'Lost') as the Egyptian brother of Moses.

It's difficult to set aside the original story and try to evaluate the movie as just a movie without comparing it to the original story. I'd like to see someone make this movie someday and be faithful to the Scriptural account--now that would be something to see!
